For GM / General Motors. DT-48094 guides the IDS during installation to prevent damage to the IDS seal. The seal is installed in the input shaft, and the IDS passes through it. DT-48094 is placed over the end of the IDS, and the assembly is passed through the IDS seal to seat into the input shaft. Once the IDS is in place, DT-48094 is removed. Unapproved methods will damage the IDS seal.
