Kent-Moore DT-48009 Shim Selection ToolFor GM / General Motors. Proper set-up of the ring gear and pinion relative to each other ensures an enhanced driving and ownership experience. Improper set-up due to incorrect shim selection will cause driver dissatisfaction, and can lead to premature axle failure. DT-48009 must be used to select the shims required to place the ring gear and pinion in their optimized operating positions. DT-48009 contains gauging devices specific to the Getrag 625 and 626 axles, and is used with J-42168 Shim Selection Kit components to ensure that the shims selected will be correct.
