Ford Rotunda 303-562 Synchronizer Alignment Gauge 6469 511536
Past Tool Number: T96T-12200-A
Used to synchronize the camshaft sensor to the number one cylinder
To synchronize the camshaft sensor to the number one cylinder in these vehicles, you will need to follow these steps:
1. Park the vehicle on a flat surface and engage the parking brake.
2. Open the hood and locate the camshaft position sensor. It is typically located on the side of the engine block, near the camshaft.
3. Disconnect the electrical connector from the camshaft position sensor.
4. Start the engine and let it run for a few minutes to warm up.
5. Turn off the engine and remove the ignition key.
6. Use a wrench or socket set to manually rotate the engine crankshaft pulley in a clockwise direction until the timing mark on the crankshaft pulley aligns with the top dead center (TDC) mark on the engine block.
7. Once the timing mark is aligned, locate the camshaft sprocket and look for the timing marks on it.
8. Align the timing mark on the camshaft sprocket with the corresponding mark on the engine block. This should be the mark that indicates the timing for the number one cylinder.
9. With the camshaft timing marks properly aligned, reinstall the camshaft position sensor and reconnect the electrical connector.
10. Start the engine and check for any abnormal noises or vibrations. If everything sounds and feels normal, the camshaft sensor should now be synchronized with the number one cylinder.
It is always recommended to consult the vehicle's service manual for specific instructions and torque
